A Patient Macaw

Image
I've never been very good a bird photos. They're usually too fast for me. But this macaw was very cooperative. Okay, so it was in a zoo, but there were still plenty of places it could  have flown to. It was in a very large aviary.  Go, See, Enjoy Dave

Malayan Tiger

Don't tell my niece (she hates zoos) but I went to the Chaffee Zoo in Fresno the other day. I was lucky, got there early and it was still cool enough for this guy to be out and about. I had to shoot through a wire fence so I was surprised it came out as sharp as it did.  Love my Tamron 70-300mm lens. Go, See, Enjoy, Just don't tell Nicky. Dave More to follow.

Iris'

With the drought that is taking place in the Central Valley most lawns are looking pretty bad. Though I have to say some of my flowering plants seem to be doing pretty well without much additional water. I like this second one with the but up in the top left corner. Your eye misses it at first. Go, See, Enjoy! Dave

Half Dome

Image
I went to Glacier Point last weekend hoping to catch the moon rising over Half Dome. Wrong..... The moon did rise while I was there but far to the right of Half Dome. A better angle would have been from the valley floor.  I tried photo shopping the moon in but it looked like someone photo shopped the moon in. Go, See, Enjoy Dave

Dogwoods in Yosemite

Image
The Dogwoods were near the end of full bloom in Yosemite Valley. But I still got some great photos. Which one to post, which one? This one ? Or...... This one? Go, See, Enjoy. PS: The Dogwoods at the higher elevations are just beginning to bloom. Dave

Mt Shasta, South of Mc Cloud

Image
Here's another view of the mountain, from the south side this time. Last time from the southwest. I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted to photograph, the only problem was you couldn't get this view from anywhere you could stop the car. So I pulled off the road (sort of) in an area that they warn the road narrows and has almost no shoulder. Jumped out and luckily the three cars that passed missed my car and me. Go, See, Enjoy! Dave

Mt Shasta and Dogwoods

Image
I was recently in the Mt Shasta area, the Dogwoods were in bloom and the mountain was beautiful, getting them both in a photograph with the time I had proved problematic. I found these dogwoods in a ravine. If I was close to the dogwoods you couldn't see the mountain. So this was my compromise. Go, See, Enjoy! Dave
