Yosemite and More

 I recently had to go to Portland Oregon for work. On the way to and from I had the opportunity to stop and have some fun photographing. First stop was Burney Falls in Northern California. If you don't like smoothed out water this isn't the blog post for you. 😎 This is one of the first looks you get of the falls from the overlook. If you look in the upper left had corner you see something that anywhere else might be it's own pretty good little fall.  Took a trip to the coast a couple of days ago. Originally planned on photographing around the Monterey, Point Lobos area but the traffic and crowds were horrendous. So I continued down the coast to the Big Sur area. No beach visits but great hikes and my kind of country, forests. This butterfly finally cooperated and stay in one place for a few seconds The feather on the clover just appealed to me for some reason. There were a few flowers, some easier to spot than others, especially if you're color blind. I hate that term Another patient insect. This is a famous waterfall at Julia Pfieffer Burns State Park  because it empties into the Pacific Ocean If you go to the other side of the parking lot and follow the Canyon Trail...  Went to Yosemite the other day to relax and take a few photos. On the way up the Redbud was in full bloom. I don't think I've see so much of it.  However it's ending soon, so get going if you want to experience it. Fern Springs is always a good place to photograph. This coyote barely moved. Went to Yosemite Valley a couple of weeks ago with some great people. I can actually say I haven't had that much fun in a very long time. Stories were told, s--t was given and laughing was heard. THE FOLLOWING IS USED WITHOUT PERMISSION. I don't care. There's a lot of water flowing right now, the dogwoods were in bloom and people were everywhere. The Merced River was a little angry with all the water flowing down it. As I said the Dogwoods were in full bloom. I took a lot of photos and had to restrain myself when deciding what to post. Here's a 'few' I decided on. Definitely one of my all time favorites. I've seen a lot of Dogwoods over the years. This particular tree really grabbed my attention. A friend and I took a trip to Yosemite on Saturday. Took a lot of photos, looked good in the Camera on Sunday. Card was corrupted on Monday.  Tried several 'free' recovery programs. No luck. Thanks to the advise of another friend I tried Sandisk Recovery Pro.  Had to buy it but it was worth every penny. We went to Foresta Fall.  Here's a kinda side fall to the main one. The area was recently burned in a wild fire. It seems to be coming back. Lots of wild flowers including Lupine. I liked this one because of the shape. I like this one because of the contrast to the Wild Oats And I think these speak for themselves. Go, See, Enjoy! Dave

Last weekend I went to the Eastern Sierras looking for some fall color. While some areas I planned on going were past their prime, others were still pretty good. I decided to stay away from places I'd been before. Believe it or not I didn't even visit Bodie or Mono Lake. My first stop was a place I drive past every time I head that way. It's Lee Vining Creek  and I believe the road is Power Line Road. It's on 120 just a bit before the 395 junction. The sky was overcast the whole weekend, more on that later. But it didn't provide  for blue skies with puffy clouds. Here's one of the first shots of the late afternoon ( got a late start, darn work) Then I met this young lady.
