It's been a while since I posted last. Sorry. I've been very lax in both my photography and my editing. Hope to do better. Here are some images from a trip I took to Mt. Shasta a month or so ago.  My photography was cut short but I got a few shots in around the City of Mt. Shasta and my brothers house. Do you see the mother ship on the right. There are those that will believe. On the way into the city there was this area that was supposed to be grass. Sure had a nice crop. Just not grass. Dandelions are given a bad rap. Just like manzanita is considered a weed-brush in the woods (see my prior post). Dandelions are a weed in grass, but are  actually quite beautiful. This one is from my brothers yard, not the dandelions. I'm in the process of editing some more.  Hope to post soon Go, See, Enjoy, Photograph Dave

Bodie Trip- Landscapes.

Image
I took a trip to the Eastern Sierras and Bodie last weekend. It was quite a weekend. They closed Tioga Pass Friday evening after went over. Here are a few of the landscapes from that trip. Photos of Bodie to follow. This was taken from Highway 140 while I was still in the Valley. As usual the High Sierra was magnificent, but real cold and windy. Once on the other side I took a trip to the June Lake Loop area. I mentioned it was windy and cold.   I took some photos of a very choppy Mono Lake, They were all blurry, the wind was such that using my 300mm lens I didn't get a sharp photo. If you've been to the north side of Mono Lake on Highway 395 you know what this is a picture of. I don't know what the wind speed was or the wind chill factor, but it was d.... cold. The high Sierras from the road into Bodie. They closed Tioga Pass on Sunday morning. When I checked at about 9:30am I was told  the s...

I drove to the Hetch Hetchy area of the Rim Fire. It looks pretty grim. But if you look closely......... I was especially happy with the wonderful background on this shot. Go, See, Enjoy Dave

One of the main stops in Yosemite's high Sierra is Olmstead Point. This was shot at about 1:30am. With the moon to my right. Honestly I'm a bit disappointed, the stars where a lot brighter than this post indicates. Go, See, Enjoy. Dave

I was lucky enough to visit the Yosemite high country the day after Tioga Pass was opened. I wonder what this scene would have been like if it had been a normal winter instead of another year of draught. Go, See, Enjoy
