Half Dome - Framed

Image
I love Yosemite, you never get tired of it's iconic features such as Half Dome. I framed the top half with the branches of a tree in front of me and let the tree line frame the lower portion. And puffy clouds too. Go, See, Enjoy!

Poppies of Hite Cove

Image
If you love poppies and wildflowers in general try a great hike on the Hite Cove trail along the south fork of the Merced River. Go, see, enjoy!

Droste Clock

Image
Found a neat filter add-in for Photo Shop. This started out as the clock on my mantle. Using the Droste filter I was able to manipulate it into this spiral effect. Kinda cool don't you think. Go, See, Enjoy, Explore Dave

Fog of War

Image
The term 'Fog of War' wasn't originally about the ambiguities of war. This was taken less than 50 yards from the soldiers in-between canon volleys. As you can imagine this could cause some confusion on the field of battle. At times it would be hard to tell where your own men were, let alone the enemy. Go, See, Enjoy Dave

Outside the Valley

Image
Most people who go to Yosemite only visit the valley floor. This was taken on highway 120 going toward the east entrance to Yosemite. I took this on the way to Bodie to photograph the old ghost town. As you can see there is more beauty in Yosemite than just the valley. Go, See, Enjoy Dave

Just a Yellow Flower

Image
They're everywhere.   I've taken plenty of shots of this type of flower. Why not they're everywhere. I like the soft backlighting from the evening sun. Your eye immediately goes to the flower then you discover the seedpod on the lower right. Go, See, Enjoy Dave

Oleander

Image
Hey, I'm back. I'm going to try and post weekly from now on. Hope I can get out and about to take some photographs. I'm not a fan of Oleanders, but I like how this one turned out.   I actually took this in the middle of Chowchilla, you never know when you'll find something to photograph. Go, See, Enjoy! Dave

Patient Spider

Image
Old paint and spiders, oooooohhhh  While walking around Chowchilla I found this very patient spider. It took me a while  to get a good image without my tripod and it was getting dark. I like how the paint behind the spider is out of focus but becomes clear as your eye moves up the image. It also gives you some indication of how far away the spider was from the paint.  I wish I could have gotten the spider web but it was just too fine and the light was at the wrong angle, though this way it seems to be floating. Go, See, Enjoy.......Even if it is an old door with crackly paint. Dave

A California Classic

Image
There's no place like home.  I think this photograph speaks for itself. I grew up at the base of this beautiful mountain in a small lumber town called Mc Cloud. I didn't really appreciate it until I moved away. When I go back for visits there never seems to be enough time. Go (home), See, Enjoy! Dave

Natures Mirror

Image
While in Yosemite last week we came upon a flooded meadow.... I changed this one to black and white. To see it in color head up to Yosemite (your best bet) or go to the blog I share with Friedhelm my photo business partner. www.photoblog.eye2eyephotostudio.com. Go, See, Enjoy. Dave
