Bodie in Black and White

Once again when I went to Bodie I
chose to shoot in black and white. That is until sunset and later.

Here are a couple of my B&W's will post more later but my computer
is extremely slow while it runs it's security scan and I don't 
want it to stop. Recently had my debit card hacked, a little paranoid.

Guess I was in the mood for framing the photos in camera.

Luminature at the Chaffee Zoo

Went to the Fresno Chaffee Zoo the other night with Friedhelm and Nancy to view the LUMINATURE exhibits. I was very pleasantly surprised. Yosemite in November

 Went to Yosemite the other day. Really wasn't expecting much in the way of fall colors but was pleasantly surprised. I decided not to concentrate on the iconic features such as Half Dome and El Capitan, with one exception as you will see. I was surprised to see these wild grapes along the side of the road, even more surprised the deer hadn't eaten them. In Yosemite everywhere you look is pretty magnificent. Trouble is sometimes we only focus on the iconic scenes. Sometimes you look up. Sometimes you look down. This butterfly was very cooperative, or maybe just tired. Sometimes you see it climbing up a hill. Sometimes it's next to the road  but you have to walk a little to get back to it. I just thought this was kinda different. Very Old School This bush was just starting to turn. I took a trail I've never been on before, turns out it was the old Highway 41 before they build the tunnel. Trip to the MtShasta Area

Recently took a trip to the area around Mt. Shasta and thought I'd share a few images. I got to Castle Craigs State Park a little later in the afternoon so I didn't have time to take the strenuous hike into the Craigs themselves ; }, but busied myself with a couple of shorter hikes. This guy was pretty patient, If it hadn't flitted around in front of me I probably wouldn't have seen it. Note it's size compared to pine needles. Running through the Park is Flume Creek, never really thought about the name, even though I lived in the area for years, until I saw this. One of the prettiest hikes I took was along Cabin Creek, south of McCloud. I, of course, had to hike the McCloud River Trail. My brother and I went on a road trip that took us around the back side of Mt.Shasta on Military Pass Road. Along the way I took a few photos in Shasta Valley. This is a view that not too many people will see, the road is pretty rugged  but my brother and his truck navigated it well. ...
