Shasta Valley, Montague area.
Here's part two of my recent vacation to
Northern California.
After being in the fog for most of the morning (see my previous post)
I broke out of it and finally located the Little Shasta Church.
I've seen photos of it but had never visited it.
The church was established in 1878. I've seen several of
this style over the years and I still find them intriguing
a great photography subjects.
I like lines and this one had some great ones.
Aren't Steeples intriguing and wonderful to look at.
On the way back I came across this Golden Eagle eating lunch, right
alongside the road. I really didn't think it would stay there
but I turned around, drove back and stopped in the middle of
the road, right across from it. It stayed for quite a while,
while I clicked away.
(Yes, I blurred out the bloody carrion)
When it decided to leave I got off a couple of shots before my
car's door jam and windshield got in the way.
After I got out of my car it circled the area.
The Golden Eagle flew away to a nearby utility pole. I walked toward it and was
able to get very close. While doing so this Bald Eagle perched itself a few poles
down. Not wanting to miss the opportunity I kept walking. It also remained there
as I got closer and closer. I was able to get several good photographs before
it flew away. It looked like it purposely flew so that the utility pole remained between
it and my camera.
I was surprised at how much bigger the Golden Eagle was compared to th
Bald Eagle.
Isn't it amazing the only utility pole in the whole world
without any power lines attached.😀
This is what greeted me at the end of my venture for the day.
This was taken just north of Weed, Ca. off of Highway 97.
Next up, Scott Valley, Lenticular Clouds and cold.
Go, See, Enjoy.
