Yosemite and More

For me some of the little things in Bodie are as interesting as the large ones.   And if you happen to like lines ( I do) the more the better. Go, See, Enjoy Dave

In Bodie you'll see one type of building more than any other. They're everywhere.   I'm not sure why I find them fascinating but I kinda do. I especially like the ones that show a little wear over time. In the winter with as cold as Bodie gets these must have been miserable places. Go, See, Enjoy. Dave

I was told this is the most photographed vehicle in Bodie. I decided to take a little different view. Go, See, Enjoy! Dave

One of the main stops in Yosemite's high Sierra is Olmstead Point. This was shot at about 1:30am. With the moon to my right. Honestly I'm a bit disappointed, the stars where a lot brighter than this post indicates. Go, See, Enjoy. Dave

You gotta love the clouds in this image of Bodie.   Bodie is a great place to photograph and when you get clouds like these you can't go wrong. Go, See, Enjoy. Dave

I was lucky enough to visit the Yosemite high country the day after Tioga Pass was opened. I wonder what this scene would have been like if it had been a normal winter instead of another year of draught. Go, See, Enjoy

Not all old buildings are in Bodie These two were on Highway 395 just south of Lee Vining on the other side of Yosemite. It was taken a couple of weeks ago while there was still some snow on the nearby hills. With the drought the snow won't be there long. Go, See, Enjoy! David

Just past the eastern side of Yosemite is the old ghost town of Bodie, a California State Park. It is full of wonderful photographic opportunities. Since Bodie is one of my favorite places to go you can expect to see a lot more images. Go, See, Enjoy Dave

Yosemite is now in full bloom with Dogwoods.   I was lucky that there was still dew on them when I photographed these. They don't last long so get up there as soon as you can.  Go, See, Enjoy Dave
